Yujiapu Financial District
Tianjin, ChinaThis project forms part of Tianjin’s new waterfront Financial District, the third largest financial centre in China and next to the fourth largest port in the world. Yujiapu is 15 minutes from Tianjin’s city centre and 45 minutes from Beijing. BTA’s design covered four city blocks in the first phase of this central business district, including four mixed-use towers combining shopping centre podiums, offices, hotel and service apartments. BTA carefully located and sculpted the tower forms to enhance their view orientation, reduce wind loads and enrich the pedestrian experience. A unique building cladding system was developed that integrates both wood and glass through a sandwiched wood curtain wall system to bring warmth to an urban environment.
